Viviani is a Brazilian artist who lived in Brazil until 1990. Since then, she has lived in Holland, Indonesia, and Spain and her life has become a true adventure full of events and stories. Performed in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Cyprus, Indonesia, Croatia, Spain, Israel, USA, France and Luxembourg, singing not only in Portuguese but, as well, in English and Spanish.
Since she is back in Holland (2018) she started to listen to Dutch cabaretier performers and the songs from Paul Van Vliet, Herman van Veen, Toon Hermans, Ramses Shaffy and others. Their songs/lyrics have touched her heart deeply, and she decided to sing in Dutch.
Along with this initiative, of singing their Dutch songs, a new project was born “No More Samba”, a theatre/cabaret show written in English and Dutch by Albert Tolla, award-winning writer from Barcelona, where Viviani acts and sings together with a Dutch actor/singer.
And because the list of songs that Viviani listened to and fell in love with is huge, and they cannot all be in the project “No More Samba” she decided, together with the acoustic guitar player Marijn Van der Linden from Holland and the Dutch/ Cape Verde piano player Carlos Matos to create the musical project “Songs from three Continents” where she sings in four languages (Portuguese, Dutch, Criollo, and Spanish) songs from South America, European and African continents. The project pays tribute to great artists such as Violeta Parra from Chile, Milton Nascimento from Brazil, Dutch Paul Van Vliet and Herman Van Veen, Cesária Évora from Cape Verde to name a few.
The repertoire is composed up of classics songs such as “Alfonsina y El Mar”, “Als het Stormt”, “Jij bent het beste wat mijn in overkomen”, Anders Anders", “Encontros e Despedidas”, “Avenida Marginal” arranged by Carlos Matos and Marijn van der Linden.
“Songs from Three Continents” performance would have started in August 2021 at the “Last Minut Jazz Festival”, Croatia, in the city of Bale, but because of restrictions of the worldwide postponed to next year 2022.
