This show is the result of months of dedication, incorporating years of research to create an intimate and organic connection between the body, shadows and objects, without relying on spoken language.

About Bastet:
To celebrate two decades of significant contribution to the Brazilian performing arts, Grupo Bastet has prepared a series of exciting initiatives as part of the ‘Bastet Impulsionadora’ project. This special phase of the project focuses on the appreciation and dissemination of the group's rich repertoire.
As part of the celebration, Grupo Bastet will dedicate itself to the maintenance and presentation of three iconic pieces that have marked its history: ‘Me, You and Him’ (2005), ‘Vamos a la praia’ (2010), ‘Katatonisch’ (2017). This artistic retrospective not only honours the group's legacy, but also offers audiences the chance to revisit notable productions and witness Grupo Bastet's artistic evolution over the years.

The group's name came from the two founding actresses' passion for cats. Bastet is the Egyptian goddess who represents the beneficial power of the sun's rays, the deity of wild cats, admired for her agility and vigour. Being one of the deities of joy, her children are generally cheerful and fun-loving. They love to play and carry sensitivity and a love of art in their souls. No other name could say so much about who we are.
The Group was founded in June 2002 at the Federal University of Goiás. It was formed by actors who at the time were students on the Performing Arts course.

Its formation includes the option of being composed only of actors and actresses, a structure that allows for changes in direction and technical support in its performances.

'Katatonisch' is een unieke theatrale ervaring, waarin je verbinding maakt met een andere plek: die van de droomwereld. Het lokt reflecties uit over droom en werkelijkheid, over dier en mens. Wat verdeelt ons? Wat brengt ons samen? Van horror tot komedie, deze show nodigt de toeschouwer uit om samen met de acteur door verschillende sensaties en gevoelens te bewegen die inherent zijn aan het leven en de huidige tijd. Een zintuiglijke reflectie op wie we zijn en de wereld waarin we leven.

De voorstelling is niet bang om gevestigde conventies uit te dagen en biedt een uniek perspectief op het menselijk bestaan en de huidige tijd.

Fysiek theater en hedendaagse mime samenkomen in een diepgaande verkenning. 

Deze show is het resultaat van jarenlang onderzoek om een intieme en organische verbinding te creëren tussen het lichaam, schaduwen en objecten, zonder afhankelijk te zijn van gesproken taal. Het master-onderzoek van acteur Thiago Moura heeft zich gericht op de droomwereld en gebruik van transmedia als podium voor dit solo-stuk.

Hoe kan de Meisner-techniek bijdragen aan de presentatie van Katatonisch voor de camera en via de nieuwe digitale media?  Het transmediale perspectief maakt het mogelijk dat acteren verder gaat dan theater, film en multimedia, en nieuwe esthetiek en poëtica in de toneelconstructie voorstelt. Het onderzoek verkent onder meer Meisners concept van scenische waarheid, dat benadrukt dat het de taak van de acteur is om werkelijk in denkbeeldige omstandigheden te leven, waarbij dit idee wordt verbonden met transmediale territoria. Deze benadering daagt de traditionele grenzen van het acteren uit en moedigt een transdisciplinaire methode aan.

Over de groep Bastet
Thiago Moura is onderdeel van de Bastet groep uit Goiania, Brazilië. De groep speelt voor het eerst in Nederland. 

Om twee decennia van belangrijke bijdrage aan de Braziliaanse podiumkunsten te vieren, tour de groep met drie iconische stukken die zijn geschiedenis hebben gemarkeerd: 'Ik, jij en hij' (2005), 'Vamos a la praia' (2010) (1 september te zien in Munganga!) en 'Katatonisch' (2017). Deze tour eert niet alleen de nalatenschap van de groep, maar biedt het publiek ook de kans om getuige te zijn van de artistieke evolutie van Grupo Bastet door de jaren heen.

De naam van de groep kwam voort uit de passie van de twee oprichtende actrices voor katten. Bastet is de Egyptische godin die de heilzame kracht van de zonnestralen vertegenwoordigt, de godheid van wilde katten, bewonderd om haar behendigheid en kracht. Omdat ze een van de vreugdegoden is, zijn haar kinderen over het algemeen opgewekt en vrolijk. Ze houden van spelen en dragen gevoeligheid en liefde voor kunst in hun ziel. Geen enkele andere naam kan zoveel zeggen over wie we zijn. De groep werd in juni 2002 opgericht aan de Federale Universiteit van Goiás. Het werd gevormd door acteurs die destijds de opleiding Podiumkunsten studeerden.

De groep kent een platte structuur en bestaat uitsluitend uit acteurs en actrices.

'Katatonic' é uma experiência teatral única, que o conecta a outro lugar: o mundo dos sonhos. Ele provoca reflexões sobre o sonho e a realidade, sobre o animal e o ser humano. O que nos divide? O que nos une? Do horror à comédia, este espetáculo convida o espectador a se mover com o ator por diferentes sensações e sentimentos inerentes à vida e ao tempo presente. Uma reflexão sensorial sobre quem somos e o mundo em que vivemos.
O espetáculo não tem medo de desafiar as convenções estabelecidas e oferece uma perspectiva única sobre a existência humana e o tempo presente. O teatro físico e a mímica contemporânea se unem em uma exploração profunda.

Este espetáculo é o resultado de anos de pesquisa para criar uma conexão íntima e orgânica entre o corpo, as sombras e os objetos, sem depender da linguagem falada. A pesquisa de mestrado do ator Thiago Moura teve como foco o mundo dos sonhos e o uso da transmídia como palco para essa peça solo.

Entre outras coisas, a pesquisa explora o conceito de verdade cênica de Meisner, que enfatiza que a tarefa do ator é viver de fato em circunstâncias imaginárias, vinculando essa ideia a territórios transmídia. Sobre o grupo Bastet

Thiago Moura faz parte do grupo Bastet, de Goiânia, Brasil. O grupo está se apresentando na Holanda pela primeira vez.
Para comemorar duas décadas de contribuição significativa para as artes cênicas brasileiras, o grupo está fazendo uma turnê com três peças icônicas que marcaram sua história: 'Me, you and him' (2005), 'Vamos a la praia' (2010) (que será vista em 1º de setembro no Munganga!) e 'Katatonic' (2017). Essa turnê não apenas honra o legado do grupo, mas também oferece ao público a chance de testemunhar a evolução artística do Grupo Bastet ao longo dos anos.

O nome do grupo surgiu da paixão das duas atrizes fundadoras por gatos. Bastet é a deusa egípcia que representa o poder de cura dos raios solares, a divindade dos gatos selvagens, admirada por sua agilidade e força. Por ser um dos deuses da alegria, seus filhos são geralmente alegres e bem-humorados. Eles adoram brincar e carregam a sensibilidade e o amor pela arte em suas almas. Nenhum outro nome pode dizer tanto sobre quem somos. O grupo foi fundado em junho de 2002 na Universidade Federal de Goiás. Foi formado por atores que cursavam o curso de Artes Cênicas na época.

O grupo tem uma estrutura plana e é formado exclusivamente por atores e atrizes.
