A chat filled with the most significant songs of the Brazilian musical heritage. A evening filled with music, curiosities and significant facts about the composers and songs that marked the different phases of Brazilian Music, told by tree Brazilian musicians who are a part of this legacy.
The public will be invited to interact with the musicians by asking questions, commenting and singing along.
Marcelo Godoy is a singer and composer from Montes Claros, Minas Gerais. For many years he was a member of famous folklore group “Banze” which he performed on many tours round the world. Living in Rotterdam since 1993, he has created and developed many different projects aiming a better interaction between the Dutch and Brazilian communities.
Alaor Soares is a percussionist, drummer and teacher from São Paulo. Considered one of the most important promoters of Brazilian Music in the Netherlands, he brought to the stages of Holland artists such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Ivete Sangalo, Djavan, Jorge Benjor, João Bosco, Gal Costa, among others.
Nelson Latif is cavaquinho and guitar player from São Paulo. Since 2005 he is ahead of the Alma Brasileira Project, designed for universities and cultural institutions, addressing the history and sociocultural aspects of traditional Brazilian music.
