Come and join us in the colorful musical world of Brazil's backlands!
The opera ‘the guitars of death’ was written by composer Elomar Figueira Mello in the tradition of early baroque Italian opera, but is also full of elements from the culture of the Sertão of Bahia: melodic and rhythmic lines, recitatives referring to ancient troubadour art and Iberian Romanticism. Henrique Gomide (workshop and piano), Joao Luis Nogueira (guitar) and the Apollo Ensemble will introduce the colorful musical world of the interior of Brazil with a lecture, workshop and music.
19:30-20:30 Brazilian evening ‘A taste of the opera’ performed by the Apollo Ensemble combined with original Brazilian music, played by Henrique Gomide (piano) and João Noguiera (guitar).
This will of course be concluded with drinks and Brazilian snacks!
