Description
Wood engraving, or “xilogravura”, is a technique for engraving with wood.
Based on this technique, there is currently “isogravura”, which uses styrofoam instead of wood for the printing process.
In “isogravura”, the drawing is made directly on the foam with a pen, leaving the part that will be the background in relief (unlike “xilogravura”).
Then the process is similar: applying the ink and pressing the foam onto the surface where the engraving will be printed, which can be reproduced several times using the same mold.
In this workshop, we will learn the “isogravura” technique to make beautiful engravings, which can be printed on paper and turned into true artworks.
