Al Sur Dúo is dedicated to the diffusion of Argentinian Tango.
Both members of Al Sur Dúo teach in public and private institutions and give musical workshops both in Argentina and abroad.
Al Sur Dúo was born in 2015, originally formed for a folk & tango tour that took place in France, the Netherlands and Germany, accompanying a dance group.
Later they began to work on a repertoire that combined concert and dance tango as well as folk songs that identify the different regions of Argentina, with the aim of going on a European tour as a duo. In 2019 they went on tour to Estonia, Finland and Sweden.
During the pandemic they released an album with some of the songs played on the previous year's tour.
In 2024 they performed a European tour with shows in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, France and Spain. In Estonia they collaborated with the Puhkpilliorkester Saku (Brass Orchestra), making two tango arrangements especially for the orchestra and playing with them in two shows.
On their 2025 European tour they will present a renewed repertoire, with new arrangements in the "milonguero" style. For this purpose, arrangements of "orquesta tÃpica" have been transcribed and adapted to the duo format.
This performance at the MiLunes milonga in the Munganga theatre is part of a new European tour that will take them to Spain, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
