Music from Brazil, Ecuador and Portugal

They are a multi-faceted ensemble, exploring music from all over the world, currently focused on highlighting the rhythms of Brazil and Portugal. 

During our program, children will enjoy dances, legends, and songs from the Brazilian and Portuguese tradition. They will also get to know the instruments better, with a didactic and fun showcase.

Aaron Ormaza Vera
Ecuadorian pianist Aarón Ormaza Vera currently resides in the Netherlands and studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Frank van de Laar where he is pursuing a Master degree in Piano Performance. As part of his professional activities, Aarón performs both as a soloist and as a collaborative pianist, which has brought to him the opportunity of playing in some of the most important venues in the Netherlands. He is a prizewinner of the 8th YPF European Piano Competition (the Netherlands), the IX Stasys Vainiūnas Competition for Pianists and Chamber Ensembles (Lithuania), and the International Student LiedDuo Competition in Groningen (the Netherlands). Aarón obtained his Bachelor degree in his home country in 2016, which was followed up by a successful audition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of the renowned pedagogue Jan Wijn. Professor Wijn guided Aaron towards the completion of his second Bachelor degree in 2020.

Francisca Portugal
Portuguese violinist Francisca Portugal is a multifaceted, sought-after chamber and orchestral musician. Recently graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Francisca has been a resident of the Netherlands for the past 6 years, where she obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree under the tutelage of Concertgebouw Concertmaster and renowned pedagogue Liviu Prunaru Her latest projects include working with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Orquestra Vigo ‘430, Orquestra XXI, and Ensamble MPMP. Furthermore, her work with violinist Nátalie Kulina, as part of Grimm Duette, has taken her to the finals of the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours, for which they presented both original works and arrangements made by them. Next to her orchestral activities, she is also a prizewinner of both national and international competitions. During the season 2022-2023, Francisca is engaged to perform with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest (Amsterdam) as a freelancer and Residentie Orkest (Den Haag), where she recently won a 1 st violin position.
