February is the month of love, as we celebrate Valentine’s Day on 14 February. How does love on the piano? Can we say I love you with the notes on the piano? At today’s concert, Petra plays classical piano pieces about love. With works a.o. by Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Debussy.

Petra Ruth Alexandry is from Jakarta, Indonesia. She came to the Netherlands in 2016 and graduated in 2022 with two master’s degrees in classical piano and music education. She has a broad and varied career, as a pianist, music teacher and cultural project manager. Children are always at the centre of everything she does, whether in concerts or in the music lessons she teaches. Petra is also an experienced and
enthusiastic music teacher.
Together with Brazilian viola player Barbara de Souza, she created Young Maestro, where general music lessons and instrumental lessons are combined. Petra is also actively involved in various cultural organisations in the Netherlands. She was project leader at PianoFest, Entrée of The Concertgebouw Amsterdam and International Holland Music Sessions. Petra is also part of ATANA, a traineeship programme for future leaders of cultural sector in the Netherlands.

Februari is de maand van de liefde, want op 14 februari vieren we Valentijnsdag. Hoe klinkt liefde op de piano? Kunnen we zeggen dat ik van je hou met de noten op de piano? Tijdens het concert van vandaag speelt Petra klassieke pianostukken over de liefde. Met werken o.a van Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Debussy.

Petra Ruth Alexandry komt uit Jakarta, Indonesië. Ze kwam in 2016 naar Nederland en studeerde in 2022 af met twee masterdiploma’s in klassieke piano en muziekeducatie. Ze heeft een brede en gevarieerde carrière, als pianist, muziekdocent en cultureel projectmanager. Bij alles wat ze doet staan kinderen altijd centraal, of het nu tijdens de concerten is of tijdens de muzieklessen die ze geeft. Petra is ook een ervaren en
enthousiaste muziekdocent.
Samen met de Braziliaanse altvioliste Barbara de Souza creëerde ze Jonge Maestro, waar algemene muzieklessen en instrumentale lessen
gecombineerd worden. Daarnaast is Petra ook actief betrokken bij verschillende culturele organisaties in Nederland. Ze was projectleider bij PianoFest, Entrée van Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam en International Holland Music Sessions. Petra maakt ook deel uit van ATANA, een traineeshipprogramma voor toekomstige leiders van de culturele sectoren in Nederland.
