Joanne Bird is a Dutch singersongwriter: she creates Indie & Americana folk music with a touch of jazz. With songs about everyday ups and downs and vulnerabilities poured into stylish arrangements, she takes the audience on a personal and musical journey.
In June 2023, she released her debut EP called ‘Sounds of the City’. Shortly after the release, Joanne traveled for five months through all the big music cities of the United States to find inspiration to write new music, record and perform. This included playing at The Bluebird Café in Nashville and on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans, and recording her new EP ‘Railroad Tracks’ at a studio in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The latter she did with a group of established musicians from Nashville, New York & New Jersey, some of whom are coming to the Netherlands for her spring tour in March in celebration of the new EP to be released in the spring.
At the age of five, Joanne Bird began playing piano, followed by singing and guitar. She further developed herself during her Bachelor at Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg, and during the Master of Music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In addition, she studied several times in New York City. Joanne has received vocal coaching over the years from Lucy Woodward, Jim Mola, Machan Taylor, Sofie Dirkx, and Marle Thomson, among others.
Let this evening take you on the journey of Joanne Bird's music and her experiences in the United States. Some American classics won’t be missing either!

Ser Xerri (pronounced “Sir Sherry”) is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from New Jersey’s Asbury Park area.
He cut his teeth as a solo acoustic performer on the bar scene in New Brunswick, where he developed an extensive repertoire, and an engaging and energetic stage presence.
Xerri has toured the United States as a member of multiple bands, played some of New Jersey’s most iconic venues, including The Stone Pony Summerstage and Count Basie Theater, and performed live on the Today Show Nashville.
While Ser Xerri has played some big stages with big bands, he maintains a great respect for the power of a voice and an acoustic guitar.
Much of his recent songwriting reflects this, with a focus on fingerstyle guitar.
