Rejan & Chagas Trio is an instrumental music project that originated in the Brazilian Midwest, the heart of Brazil. The trio, formed by guitarist Fabiano Chagas, bassist Bruno Rejan, and drummer Guilherme Santana, presents a unique repertoire of original compositions and modern interpretations of Brazilian music classics. Known for their virtuosic skills and deep understanding of Brazilian musical culture, they blend elements of modern jazz with both contemporary and traditional Brazilian popular music, offering an innovative musical experience through their compositions and improvisations.
This special concert at Teatro Munganga will feature the renowned Dutch pianist Mike del Ferro as a guest artist, adding his unique touch to the trio's vibrant and eclectic sound.
Guitarist Fabiano Chagas has toured Europe and the United States, performing at major jazz festivals and concert venues, as well as conducting workshops and masterclasses. Currently a music professor at the Federal University of Goiás, Chagas is renowned for his musicality and technical excellence on both classical Brazilian guitar and electric guitar.
Bassist Bruno Rejan, recognized as a prodigy at the age of fifteen, is one of the most influential bassists in the Brazilian Midwest. Known for his expertise as an improviser, composer, and arranger, he also serves as a professor of bass at the Federal University of Goiás.
Drummer Guilherme Santana, considered one of Brazil's most skilled percussionists, has recorded hundreds of albums and regularly conducts workshops and masterclasses. Now based in Belgium, Santana is an active presence in the recording industry and collaborates with a wide range of artists.
