In Brazillie heeft Nilze met haar overdonderende talent de harten van veel muziekliefhebbers gestolen. Nu komt ze naar Nederland en brengt een programma met instrumentale klassiekers, en na de pauze met zang.

In this presentation in Amsterdam Nilze Carvalho will be accompanied by Kees Gelderblom on guitar and Marco Santos on percussion.
The show will have two acts: the first part will be CHORO CANÇÃO, where she presents choro classics and instrumental.
The second part will be SAMBA E OUTRAS COISAS MAIS, where she will sing samba and MPB classics.

Nilze Carvalho
When she was spotted by the older brother playing “Acorda Maria Bonita” on the cavaquinho, Nilze Carvalho, then 5 years old, began a true love story with music. At the age of six she was already starting to perform in public in Radios, theaters and television
From 11 to 14 years old, she recorded, as a bandolinist, the series of LPs “Choro de Menina” in four volumes, the 1st and 4th being accompanied by the Conjunto Época de Ouro. He began his international career by 15 tours in Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Holland, the United States, Japan, Argentina, China and Australia. Back in Brazil in 2000, Nilze and his college colleagues founded the group Sururu na Roda, which already collects 5 CDs and 2 DVDs. The group was elected the Best Samba Group in the 2014 Brazilian Music Award.
As a solo singer she recorded the CD “Estava Faltando Você” – 2005 with which she was nominated for the Tim Prize for best samba singer. In 2010 she released the CD “O que é Meu” by Biscoito Fino. In recent years Nilze participated in the DVD Samba Social Club 2 and 4, DVD Gafieira, by Zeca Pagodinho, recorded the samba “Acreditar” with D. Ivone Lara in the DVD Cidade do Samba, recorded the opening track of the CD in honor of Clara Nunes, recorded a special participation in the CD with singer Olívia Hime and also recorded the track Já Mandei Botar Dendê in Sambabook Zeca Pagodinho. She performed several shows across the country and abroad in countries such as Italy, France, Spain, USA, China, Japan, Australia, Ecuador, Senegal (Dec / 10 – III FESMAN), Portugal (2013 – Brazil / Portugal Year). With Sururu na Roda she traveled to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Tunisia, Belize, USA and Japan.
Nilze has already sang and played alongside great names in Brazilian and international popular music, such as: Dona Ivone Lara, Zeca Pagodinho, Jair Rodrigues, Zé da Velha and Silvério Pontes, Mart’nália, Olívia Hime, Monarco, Nei Lopes, Nelson Sargento, Hamilton de Holanda, Dudu Nobre, Zélia Duncan, Roberta Sá, Sadao Watanabe, Stefano Bollani among others.
The CD “VERDE AMARELO NEGRO ANIL” was nominated for GRAMMY LATINO 2015 for the best SAMBA / PAGODE Album category.
Nilze is preparing a new work that will be a DVD that will reflect much of the experience she has acquired over the years of her national and international career.

Kees Gelderblom

Kees was born in The Hague, in 1958. At the age of eleven he buys his first guitar of self-saved money and in 1976 he gets in touch with Brazilian music (Luíz Bonfá on the radio). The Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell creates a 180-degree turnaround in the life of Kees. In 1988 he graduated from the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam as a classical guitar teacher. During the study period, he was part of the Brazilian formation TANGA until 1995, under the direction of Paulo Prata (drummer / singer).

Marco Santos

Marco Santos is percussionist, drummer en componist. Met zijn basis in Nederland en Portugal reist hij over de wereld en deelt zijn passie voor muziek. Op het debuutalbum Ode Portrait (2013) zijn Santos ‘roots’ in de jazz, klassieke muziek en wereldmuziek sterk voelbaar. “Marco Santos schildert een kleurrijk portret van intense schoonheid dat bol staat van variatie en mystiek. Alaor wordt beschouwd als de grondlegger van de Braziliaanse muziek in Nederland. Hij is bevoegd HBO docent Braziliaanse muziek en gecertificeerd door het Ministerie van OCW. Als producent en organisator van evenementen, haalt Alaor veelvuldig Braziliaanse topartiesten naar Europa. Daarnaast is hij regelmatig op de podia en in theaters te zien als drummer/percussionist.
