Three friends, three musicians.
Brazilian guitarist and cavaquinho player Nelson Latif, the brilliant Brazilian drummer and percussionist Alaor Soares, and guitarist Joy Goh have been playing and recording together — often alongside singers.
But this time, the story is different. It’s the instruments that take the stage.
The two guitarists come from different musical worlds:
Nelson with roots in Choro, Brazilian jazz, and classical music, and Joy had an background of American jazz and Indie music.
In this concert, they present the music that first connected them — Brazilian music.
This performance is their story told through sound: a meeting point between samba and jazz, melody and groove, friendship and freedom.
The trio will perform works by legendary Brazilian artists Baden Powell, Edu Lobo, Dilermando Reis, and Dutch-Brazilian guitarist Kees Gelderblom — blending Samba, Afro Samba, Choro, Brazilian Jazz, Bossa Nova, and MPB, all powered by Alaor’s unmistakable rhythm and energy.
And since Nelson and Alaor once shared the screen in the film Transit, who knows?
The night might just turn into a joyful Transit reunion.
Warm, spontaneous, and full of groove —
this is a celebration of friendship, rhythm, and the sound of Brazil — united through music, beyond backgrounds.
