Sun 20 Feb, 16:00 Tribute to the Zimbo Trio, by Zimbólico Jazz Trio

Zimbolico werd begin 2011 opgericht door Jens Lima dos Santos (piano), Carlos Monteiro (akoestische bas) en Joeri Baldinger (drums) met het idee om een Tribute to the Zimbo Trio op te nemen. In 2001 werd Jens door Amilton Godoy uitgenodigd om te komen luisteren naar het Zimbo Trio in het Casino van Povoa de Varzim in Portugal. Dit was het begin van een levenslange vriendschap. Gedurende de volgende 10 jaar, geïnspireerd door de uitstekende uitvoeringen van het Zimbo Trio, begon hij een aantal stukken te transcriberen en te arrangeren.

Carlos en Joeri hebben hun eigen persoonlijke touch aan het repertoire kunnen geven.

Zimbolico was founded in early 2011 by Jens Lima dos Santos ( piano ), Carlos Monteiro ( acoustic bass ) and Joeri Baldinger ( drums ) with the idea of recording  a Tribute to the Zimbo Trio. Back in 2001 Jens was invited  by Amilton Godoy to listen to the Zimbo Trio in the Casino of Povoa de Varzim in Portugal. This was the beginning of a lifetime friendship.  During the following 10 years, inspired by the excellent performances of the Zimbo Trio , he started to transcribe and arrange several of their tunes in his own way , leaving space for Carlos and Joeri in order to enable them to add their personal touch to the arrangements.
