Batuque na cozinha – Percussion with Waguinho Vasconcelos
A musical and dynamic morning: the Brazilian musician, drummer and percussionist Waguinho Vasconcelos intends to create a percussion orchestra whose instruments are everyday objects.
We will take a walk through the universe of rhythms, with our own sound instrument: wooden spoons, pots, jars, plastic cups, PET rice bottles or PET bottles (empty), buckets, cardboard boxes, anything.
Bring an object you have at home: anything can become a percussion instrument.
Let’s have fun and explore multiple sound possibilities!
You can also bring your own shaker (ganzá) from home ready-made. Here’s the recipe and it’s very simple:
– Take an empty pet bottle, put a little bit of rice or any other grain, like beans, corn, etc. Just close it with the lid and shake: your ganzá is ready!
BIO
Waguinho Vasconcelos is currently studying Musical Leadership at the Conservatorium in Amsterdam.
As a drummer he has played in festivals and jazzclubs in Brazil and Europe. He leads percussion workshops and conducts carnival groups in Brazil.
