Welcome to Casa de Fado Amsterdam, where the soul of Portugal harmonizes with the heart of the Netherlands. Founded in 2024, this acoustic musical group is dedicated to bringing the rich tradition
of fado far beyond Portugal's borders. A dynamic collective, featuring different fado musicians for each performance.

Immerse yourself in the world of Casa de Fado Amsterdam, where the soul of Portugal meets the heart of the Netherlands. Established in January 2024 in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, this acoustic musical group is on a mission to share the deep emotional resonance of fado with audiences far beyond Portugal's shores.
Since the 19th century, fado has been a powerful expression of Portuguese identity, capturing the joys and sorrows of its people. Casa de Fado Amsterdam continues this legacy, offering a profound
emotional connection to audiences in the Netherlands and beyond.

What sets this group apart is the unique convergence of musicians from the new generation. Their paths crossed unexpectedly in Amsterdam, united by a mutual love for music and a passion for fado.
Their regular fado sessions gave rise to this project, a dynamic community that features different fado musicians in each performance.
The ensemble can perform in various formats, starting with a trio (singer, classical guitarist, and either a Portuguese guitarist or harpist) and expanding to include instruments like the saxophone, cello, or
additional vocalists. For shorter concerts (around 30 minutes), we also offer a duo performance featuring Portuguese and classical guitar. This flexibility allows Casa de Fado Amsterdam to deliver
unique and enchanting performances that capture the essence of fado.
