Bassist Hamilton Pinheiro brings to Teatro Munganga an exciting Brazilian music concert.
Along great guest musicians, Pinheiro will show compositions from his albums and modern arrangements for great Brazilian songs.
The Bossa Nova, the Baião, the Samba and other genres will be the vehicle to beautiful melodies, intense harmonies, and astonishing solos.

Mike Del Ferro on piano, Rafael Lima on sax and Wagner Vasconcelos on drums are the guest musician who will join Pinheiro on this musical voyage.

Hamilton Pinheiro
Hamilton Pinheiro is a bass player, arranger, music producer and educator with 30 years of professional experience. With his work centred on Brazilian music and jazz, Pinheiro stands out for his creativity and sensitivity, delighting audiences with his music.

Hamilton Pinheiro has recorded/produced more than 80 works and has played with great names such as Armandinho Macedo, Carlos Malta, Leonel Laterza, Carlos Pial, Paulo Moura, Dominguinhos, Eduardo Neves, Anne Walsh, Ebinho Cardoso, Mirian Marques, Hamilton de Holanda, Hermeto Pascoal, Lidi Satier, Marcelo Café, Túlio Borges, Gabriel Grossi, Zé Luis Mazzioti, Paul Lieberman, Alexei Tsiganov, Michael Tracy and Phill de Greg.

Rafael Lima

Award winning saxophonist! Rafael has strong roots in Afro-Brazilian music. He combines his influences with jazz concepts. Plays alto, tenor and bari saxophones, flute, birds whistles and didgeridoo. SAMBA, CHORO, JAZZ, HOUSE, FUNK... Master in Jazz Performance. Bachelor degree in classical sax. 30 years of experience

Rafael Pereira Lima is an artist with strong roots in Afro-Brazilian music. He combines his influences with jazz concepts. The main instruments are saxophone (alto and baritone) and flute. He works as a performer, composer, arranger, producer, educator and entertainer. He is also a self-proclaimed nerd.


Mike del Ferro

International Award winning Pianist / Composer Mike del Ferro was born in Amsterdam. His father was opera singer Leonard del Ferro who sang and recorded with Maria Callas and Leonard Bernstein. He started studying classical piano at the age of nine and after falling in love with Jazz he pursued his studies on Jazz and received a Master in Contemporary Music at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Mike also studied composition and arranging  with Bob Brookmeyer at the Musikhochschule in Cologne, Germany.

He won several Awards:  the First Prize at the Rotterdam Jazz Piano Competition, the Soloist Prize at the Europe Jazz Contest in Brussels, and First Prize at the Karlovy Vary Jazz contest.  

His reputation as a soloist, accompanist, composer and arranger has led to performances and recordings with musicians such as Toots Thielemans, Branford Marsalis, Jack DeJohnette, Randy Brecker, Oscar Castro Neves, Deborah Brown, Erik Truffaz, Jorge Rossy, Scott Hamilton, Richard Galliano, and many others. He has released more then 20 albums under his own name and he has appeared as a sideman on many albums in different genres from Dixieland to Salsa. Wagner Vasconcelos

I am a drummer hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil with a passion for jazz, blues, and various Brazilian rhythms. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Musical Leadership at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I have had the privilege of studying under renowned drummers such as Zé Eduardo Nazário, Lilian Carmona, Celso de Almeida, Cleber Almeida, Rodrigo "Digão" Brás, Sérgio Gomes, Éder o Rocha, Beto Angerosa, Alexandre Damasceno, and Silas Fherrer.

I played in jazz festivals and clubs in countries such as The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Denmark.
As a drummer, play for more than 13 years in the organ trio Hammond Grooves and played with musicians like Ronnie Cuber (USA), Grana Louise (USA), Jimmy Burns (USA), Hermine Deurloo (NL), Martin Fondse (NL), Mike Boddé (NL), Pyrophone Juggernaut (Australia), Olaiá Mucis, and great Brazilian musicians based in The Netherlands and Brazil such as Lilian Vieira, Lucas Santana, Elizabeth Fadel, Breno Virícimo, Nelson Latif, Leo Gandelman, João Sabiá, Michel Leme, Vanessa Moreno, Blubell, Tássia Reis, Rogério Bottermaio, Paula Faour, Marcos Otaviano, Igor Prado, Ivan Marcio, Décio Caetano, Robson Fernandes, among others.
