This international duo of two female musicians is united by the unconditional love to Brazilian music. The girls met playing in a Roda de Choro in Brussels and since then started playing music together in Brussels and in Germany and this time meeting half way in Amsterdam.
Rosa Morena Russa (Kateryna Ostrovska) is born in Ukraine but lives the most part of her life in Hamburg where she also founded a club of Choro Music with her friends. She already released four albums with her compositions, and this year a new album “Chora Berlim” is about to come out in the end of May. In Brazil she worked with important musicians like Paulo Aragão, Daniela Spielmann, Ricardo Herz, Salomão Soares, Rodrigo Digao Braz and many more and had a privilege to present her music on stage of Casa do Choro in Rio last year.
Line Daenen ist a virtuoso flute player, she is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in classical music and a Master’s degree in jazz and has a deep knowledge of Choro, known as an outstanding flutist for Brazilian music, salsa, free improvisation and jazz in the music scene of Brussels.
The Duo will be supported by the Dutsch percussionist Roland Coenmans.
