Bij het initiëren van zijn muzikale traject met choro en later met erudiete gitaar, blinkt de gitarist Micael Chaves uit door de dimensie en diversiteit van zijn artistieke achtergrond. “In mijn gedachten zijn er geen barrières tussen het klassieke en het populaire, daarom loop ik vrijelijk tussen deze twee genres door”. BRAZILIAANSE ROOTS brengt het erudiete technische concept naar populaire muziek, waarbij het swingende ritme met de Braziliaanse componisten wordt vermengd. Micael Chaves speelt innovatieve arrangementen van de toegewijde gitarist Sergio Assad tot werken van grote componisten zoals: Abismo de Rosas (Américo Jacomino), Interrogando (João Pernambuco) en Palhaço (Egberto Gismonti). Hij maakt nuances van klassieke timbres, ritmische variëteiten en blinkt uit in de grote veelzijdigheid bij het spelen van het repertoire. Chaves begon zijn studie in 2001, op 13-jarige leeftijd, sindsdien had hij als meesters enkele gitaarlegendes zoals: Jorge Assad, José Vital, Henrique Pinto, Sergio Assad, Odair Assad en Geraldo Ribeiro. In 2008 studeerde hij af aan het Conservatorium van Tatuí en sindsdien toerde hij door verschillende landen met verschillende artiesten, zoals Duo Assad, het beste en meest invloedrijke duo van gitaren ter wereld.

He plays innovative arrangements from the consecrated Guitarist Sergio Assad to works of great composers such as: Abismo de Rosas (Américo Jacomino), Interrogando (João Pernambuco) and Palhaço (Egberto Gismonti). He creates nuances of classical timbres, rhythmic varieties and excels for the great versatility at playing the repertory. Micael Chaves initiated his studies in 2001, at the age of 13, since then he had as masters some guitar legends such as: Jorge Assad, José Vital, Henrique Pinto, Sergio Assad, Odair Assad e Geraldo Ribeiro. He graduated by the Conservatory of Tatuí in 2008 and since then, he toured through various countries with different artists, like Duo Assad, the best and the most influent duo of guitars in the world.
