Sat 23 Jul, 20:00 – I’m not a Robot & Every day Violence, Butoh performances by Luan Machado

Today we present two performances of the Brazilian actor, dancer and director Luan Machado.

"I'M NOT A ROBOT" (Performance)
Performance of Butoh exploring the queer universe.

The pride flag that defends the difference, the body violated by the prejudices of society is printed in words and gestures on the scene.

A contemporary remix of the noises of technology shot from dating apps, pop music, the performer's authoritative voice in electronic beats coming from the dance floor where voguing, lip-sync, glamor-trash, the exacerbation of symbols inhabiting the POSE aesthetic.

The premiere of I'm not a robot was in Milan in 2019 at Drama Milano, performed also at Mandala Festival (Poland 2020), at FAKI 24 (Croatia 2021) and at Festival Le Voci dell'Anima (Italy 2021) which received the award for the 'Best Dance Piece'.

"EVERY DAY VIOLENCE" (Performance)

The collaboration of Distant Animals (Daniel Heignell) and Luan Machado in a performance built with dance, projections and imagery soundscapes.
Every day we are suffering violence in many ways.
The new neutral pos pandemic.
Every day the body is cast down as the defamation of form, the instrument and the encumbrance, a bloody and visceral dance explored from the Butoh.

The performer without identity, slavery, covered in an endless scene, the agonic parry, a life spent framed by noise, hub-bub, asunder, fragmented in movements that reflect the society castrated  by the system's conditions sharing violence and poetry on the stage.

The premiere of Every day Violence was at Festival En Chair et en Son #6ed. (Paris 2021) and will be performed at Festival Le Voci dell'Anima (Italy 2022).
