"Debaixo do barro do chão” (Under the mud of the ground) - Carol Andrade (voice) and Alex Maia (acoustic guitar)
In this concert, Carol Andrade and Alex Maia from São Paulo, Brazil, perform songs composed by some of the most important Brazilians songwriters, such as Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, among others, showing the diversity of Brazilian rhythms and culture.
Brazilian popular music is undoubtedly one of Brazil's greatest cultural and historical heritages.
From that ground, trodden by so many peoples and cultures, a very rich, sustainable and surprising songbook emerged. Brazilian songs tell stories, describe landscapes, reveal the soul of the people.
From the richness of that solo, Carol Andrade (vocals) and Alex Maia (guitar) collected the repertoire of this new concert.
The duo, which has been together for 24 years and has 4 albums released in Brazil and Europe, has as a mark, the originality in the arrangements and the ability to refresh known works, as well as reveal, with beauty and authenticity, new songs.
Works by Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Dominguinhos, Rosa Passos, among others, are the fruits and seeds of this human, diverse and hopeful Brazil that the concert “Debaixo do barro do Chão” proposes to spread from heart to heart.
