Bio's
André Felipe Lima, Violin
Brazilian musician from São Paulo- a former member of São Paulo State Youth Orchestra, who 5 years ago moved to Holland. He was offered a talent grant by the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, to study with Peter Brunt. Prior to that he studied in Brazil with some of the best teachers in the country- Elisa Fukuda and Claudio Cruz- and went to Festivals such as Campos do Jordão working with notorious musicians like Marin Alsop, Andreas Ottensamer, Antonio Meneses, Giancarlo Guerrero, Pascal Tortelier, Kees Hulsman, and Maria João Pires. He is currently a member of Ciconia Consort, as well as Kamerata Zuid and Libero Strijkorkest. Andre also enjoys playing various kinds of music such as jazz and latin music, he often performs with diverse musicians in interesting formations.
Caitlin Ensor, Violin, studied classical violin in The Hague with Janet Krause and Jaring Walta. Afterwards she continued her studies in Brussels with Philippe Graffin. Since then she has participated in numerous festivals and been a member in several orchestras and ensembles. However, she has also been involved in projects with other artists where she made a soundtrack for a short film and a piece of performance art for an exhibition. At the moment Caitlin is a member of Ciconia Consort and Kamerata Zuid.
Bárbara de Souza, Violin, is a Brazilian violist and music teacher based in Amsterdam. She started her viola and piano studies at the age of 8 years old. From a very young age she stood out and soon music became part of her life.
Bárbara graduated in 2015 at the São Paulo State University in Brazil and continue her studies in Europa from 2017. In 2020 she got her diploma from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Netherlands.
With an extensive orchestral experience, she has performed in tours in France, Netherlands and USA with the Youth Orchestra of São Paulo State. During her career, she attended several masterclasses and summer courses, being taught by renowned names from the classical music world. Moreover, she has always collaborated with other musicians in chamber music projects, playing concerts in Brazil, Germany and the Netherlands.
Currently, Bárbara is violin and viola teacher at her own violin studio in Amsterdam and at Primary Schools in Waterland. Moreover, she is in the second year of her Master in Music - Instrumental Teaching, at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Netherlands.
Elisabeth Schijns, Cello, started cello lessons at the age of 6 with Monique Bartels and Monique Heidema in Breda. She continued her cello studies at the conservatory of Utrecht with Ran Varon and graduated with honors. In 2016 she completed her master as a performing musician with Timora Rosler with a 9.5 and continued her studies with France Springuel at the conservatory of Antwerp, where she graduated with great distinction two years later.
Masterclasses by cello maestros such as Steven Isserlis, Gary Hoffman and Gavriel Lipkind have given her many valuable musical insights. In 2016-2017 Elisabeth attended the orchestra academy with the Gelders orchestra, where her love for orchestral playing has grown enormously. Nowadays she regularly replaces in various orchestras, such as Het Gelders Orkest (PHION) and the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht.
As a chamber musician she is active in various ensembles, including the piano trio Panache with Sabine van Lier and Marte Gerritsma. As a soloist she played at the Francigena International Arts festival and Down the Rabbit hole.
Elisabeth has been giving cello and ensemble lessons in Amsterdam, Utrecht & Driebergen since 2008.
