“The present time. The men present. The present life”.
Casa is a contemporary dance solo spectacle that deals with the scene in its relationship with space, time and the present moment. The experience from the point of view of the event. Casa brings the trajectory of an 55 years old dancer through memories physicists who seek to dwell in front of the other. A spectacle resulting from the common research between the Brazilian Cia Gelmini and the dancer Paulo Marques. Casa is the fifth spectacle of Cia Gemini, resident in the Choreographic Centre of the City of Rio de Janeiro.
Gustavo Gelmini is artistic director of Cia Gelmini, resident at Cité Internationale des Arts, in Paris, carries out his research work among the languages of Grotowski and Eisenstein for a type of specific choreographic composition focused on a vocabulary of the interpreter-creator. His spectacles was selected in 2016 and 2017 among the best dance shows by the specialized critic of the national newspaper, O Globo, and also received the Brazilian Cesgranrio Dance Award for best dancer 2018. He presented shows at Paris: Le Centquatre and Festival Séquense Danse; and Brazil: Bienal de Dança do Ceará and Sesc. Currently, Gelmini directs the show Cosmophonies of the French company La Truc, which premieres at the Scène Nationale de L’archipel in Perpignan and Théâtre de La Cité Internationale in Paris.
