After living in Berlin for six months to further develop his own sound, pianist, composer and bandleader Daan Sanders returned to Amsterdam in March 2022, where he and his quartet released a new EP, The Berlin Sessions, in November 2022. Although The Berlin Sessions focuses on the raw sound of Berlin, the quartet is also influenced by the more subtle, classical sounds of Daan’s hometown of Amsterdam. In autumn 2022, the Daan Sanders Quartet performed at the Laren Jazz Festival and played a sold-out release concert at Splendor.
The quartet merges jazz, fusion and classical, creating raw sounds and dreamy melodies. A journey from ferocious to calm; from Berlin to Amsterdam; from the rough guitar sound of Kurt Rosenwinkel to the sultry piano vibes of Brad Mehldau. Prepare for intense jazz that makes no bones about it: this is the Daan Sanders Quartet.

Na een half jaar in Berlijn te hebben gewoond om zijn eigen sound verder te ontwikkelen, is pianist, componist en bandleider Daan Sanders in maart 2022 teruggekeerd naar Amsterdam, waar hij met zijn kwartet in november 2022 een nieuwe EP, The Berlin Sessions, heeft uitgebracht. Hoewel in The Berlin Sessions het rauwe geluid van Berlijn centraal staat, laat het kwartet zich ook beïnvloeden door de subtielere, klassieke klanken van Daans geboortestad Amsterdam. In het najaar van 2022 stond het Daan Sanders Kwartet op het Laren Jazz Festival en speelde een uitverkocht release-concert in Splendor.
Het kwartet laat jazz, fusion en klassiek samenkomen en creëert daarbij ruwe klanken en dromerige melodieën. Een reis van woest naar kalm; van Berlijn naar Amsterdam; van de ruige gitaarsound van Kurt Rosenwinkel tot het zwoele pianogeluid van Brad Mehldau.
