Music from Brazil with influences from jazz and classical music will be performed. The duo plays music by composers such as Joyce Moreno and Egberto Gismonti, but you will also hear their own repertoire as their compositions about the time they lived together in the house called ‘Casa das Flores’.
A special repertoire has been prepared with the multi-instrumentalist Lauriane Ghils on percussion. Together they tell the story of the music from Brazil from a female point of view.
Lauriane Ghils, percussionist and composer, comes from a musical family with a Mexican mother and Belgian father. In recent years, she has participated in the musical theatre performance Wild Thing in the Maastheater, which alternates theatre and percussion in a fascinating way. She has also played with important musicians such as Osvaldo Hernandez and Karim Baggili at the Festival des Nuits Nomades and Festival des arts de Huy in Belgium. She also plays with artists such as Shirma Rouse, Kim Hoorweg, Pink Oculus and Gerardo Rosales.

Muziek uit Brazilië met invloeden uit jazz en klassieke muziek wordt ten gehore gebracht. Het duo speelt muziek van o.a. componisten zoals Joyce Moreno en Egberto Gismonti, maar ook hun eigen repertoire zult u horen zoals als hun composities over de tijd dat ze samenwoonde in het huis genaamd ‘Casa das Flores’.
Een speciaal repertoire is voorbereid met de multi instrumentalist Lauriane Ghils op percussie. Samen vertellen ze het verhaal over de muziek uit Brazilië vanuit een vrouwelijk oogpunt..
Lauriane Ghils, percussionist en componist komt uit een muzikaal gezin met een Mexicaanse moeder en Belgische vader. Zij heeft de afgelopen jaren meegewerkt in de muzikale theatervoorstelling Wild Thing in het Maastheater waarin theater en percussie op een boeiende wijze wordt afgewisseld.
