A couple of years after the death of Charles Aznavour, French actor and singer Daniel Rovai commemorates the life os this great artist in a vibrant musical and theatrical performance with photos, film fragments, interviews, and above all Aznavour’s chansons.
Fr this he is joined by his three musicians with whom he has collaborated for many years on various projects: Stanley Haywood (Keyboard, Clarinet), Lorand Sarna (Guitar, Bass Guitar) and Jim Sernesky (Percussions, Trumpet).
'Formidable Aznavour' was created in the midst of the autumn of 2019 and was played in front of full houses in Amsterdam, The Hague, and Eindhoven but its touring plan was abruptly interrupted by the Covid restrictions in the Netherlands.
Today 'Formidable Aznavour' is back for a new premiere of two days that will take place on the stage of our small music theatre.
But you will feel the old Paris all around you with its street lamps, smoky bars and endless stairs. Add a nice drink, a lot of imagination, and the show can begin.

Een paar jaar na de dood van Charles Aznavour herdenkt de Franse acteur en zanger Daniel Roval het leven van deze grote artiest met wie hij zich als zoon van een migrant nauw verbonden voelt.In een muziektheater performance met foto's, filmfragmenten, interviews en vooral de liedjes van Aznavour, brengt hij zijn landgenoot weer tot leven.
Hij wordt vergezeld door drie muzikanten met wie hij vele jaren heeft samengewerkt : Stanley Haywood (keyboard, klarinet), Lorand Sarna (gitaar, basgitaar), Jim
Sernesky (percussions, trompet). 'Formidable Aznavour' werd gecreëerd midden in de herfst van 2019 en werd  met groot enthousiasme ontvangen in Amsterdam, Den Haag en Eindhoven, maar het tourplan werd abrupt onderbroken door de Covid-beperkingen in Nederland.
Vandaag is 'Formidable Aznavour' terug voor een nieuwe première van twee dagen die zal plaatsvinden op het podium van ons kleine muziektheater. je voelt  de sfeer van het naoorlogse  Parijs overal om je heen met zijn straatlantaarns, rokerige bars en eindeloze trappen van Montmartre .Voeg een lekker drankje toe, veel fantasie en de show kan beginnen.

Pour commémorer la disparition de Charles Aznavour, Daniel Rovai, acteur et chanteur Français nous présente un spectacle musical et théâtral autour de ce grand artiste.
‘Formidable Aznavour’ est un voyage poétique inédit composé d’anecdotes, interviews, et d’une sélection choisie de ses chansons, certaines populaires et d’autres inconnues, le tout sur un fond d’images à vous rincer les yeux et de fragments de films époustouflants.
Daniel Rovai est accompagné de ses trois musiciens: Stanley Haywood (Keyboard, clarinette) Lorand Sarna (Guitare, guitare basse) et Jimmy Sernesky (Percussions, trompette) avec qui il vous fera revivre pendant une soirée la vie et l’œuvre de ce Formidable Aznavour jusqu’en haut de l’affiche.
Ce spectacle a été créé au milieu de l'automne 2019 et joué devant des salles combles à Amsterdam, La Haye et Eindhoven, mais son plan de tournée a été brutalement interrompu par les restrictions de Covid aux Pays-Bas.
Aujourd'hui 'Formidable Aznavour' est de retour pour une nouvelle première de deux jours qui se déroulera sur la scène de notre petit théâtre musical. Mais vous sentirez le vieux Paris tout autour de vous avec ses lampadaires, ses bars enfumés et ses escaliers interminables. Ajoutez à ceci un bon verre de vin, beaucoup d'imagination, et nous vous souhaitons bien du plaisir

Daniel Rovai Bio
For a large part of his life, Daniel Rovai has travelled throughout Europe as an actor and singer with various international touring companies such as the Footsbarn Theatre, and various music/theatre groups. He has performed at numerous popular festivals, and like Aznavour has also got a record as a television and film actor.
Having been based in France, then the UK and now the Netherlands, he has travelled Europe and a good part of the world, and for this he has become a truly European artist and actor.
